The Solemnity of Pentecost

My dear Pueri Cantores, we have a Pope!

On April 19, 2005 cardinals gathered at conclave in Vatican through inspiration of the Holy Spirit chose 265th Pope. THIS IS CARDINAL JOSEPH RATZINGER FROM GERMANY. HE CHOSE A NAME BENEDICT XVI.

This is a great joy for the Church, that she has a shepherd, Christ's Vicar on earth, who is known for his love to music and liturgy. So, let from our hearts flow with joy "TE DEUM LAUDAMUS".

Let us pray with the words of the liturgy from the day of inauguration of pontificate: "O God, who in the designs of Your Wisdom has built Your Church on the Rock of Peter, head of the apostolic college, watch over me, Your servant, with love: You who have chosen me as successor of St. Peter, make that I render visibly to Your people the principle and foundation of unity in the faith" (Collect of the Inauguration Mass of Pontificate).

Benedict XVI is a road sign on our way of faith and love for everyone of us. This community to which one we belong through baptism is community of love. There is need to support our Shepherd of the Church. Today's world is divided by hatred and evil. Especially we experienced this, when we watched a tragedy in New York and in Madrid. There is so much anxiety. So, we need this community to keep peace in the world and in us.

Holy Father reminded this: "It is not power, but love that redeems us! This is God's sign: he himself is love. How often we wish that God would make show himself stronger, that he would strike decisively, defeating evil and creating a better world. All ideologies of power justify themselves in exactly this way, they justify the destruction of whatever would stand in the way of progress and the liberation of humanity". (Homily Benedict XVI, April 24, 2005; Inauguration of Pontificate).

This is also a mission statement of Pueri Cantores !

Only love, which one we proclaim through our lives and our beautiful singing, saves.
We sing for the good and peace in the world.

At the end of his homily Benedict XVI turned to young people in the world, so also to us, Pueri Cantores family:

" Today, with great strength and great conviction, on the basis of long personal experience of life, I say to you, dear young people: Do not be afraid of Christ! He takes nothing away, and he gives you everything. When we give ourselves to him, we receive a hundredfold in return. Yes, open, open wide the doors to Christ and you will find true life". (Homily Benedict XVI, April 24, 2005; Inauguration of Pontificate).

We can as little missionaries do in our environment more then others. We can show those who live among us our brothers and sisters- how wide we opened our doors of our hearts to Christ. He through His sacraments - Reconciliation and Eucharist - wants to strengthen us, He doesn't take away what is ours, but gives much more. He gives real life.

Dear Friends !
We will meet with our Shepherd of the Universal Church in Rome, when we will sing. We will celebrate XXXIII International Congress of Pueri Cantores during this year in December.

Let us open already today our hearts and minds for this message. Let the Holy Spirit moves us in our daily lives. Those who live among us, let us change through our goodness, which one we offer them. Our singing and our lives let become one hymn of glory to God.
I pray to the Holy Spirit for everyone of you.
