General Assembly and Presidential Meeting in Munich, Germany

From August 22nd to 25th 2024, more than 30 representatives of Pueri Cantores from all over the world met for the annual General Assembly. This year the meeting took place in Munich. The FIPC Bureau, the Council of Administration and various working groups additionally met beforehand.

Welcome, Hungary!

The worldwide community of Pueri Cantores welcomes a new member: In the autumn of 2023 a Hungarian Federation had been founded and is now an official member of the FIPC. It currently constitutes of 15 choirs and is already in close cooperation with the Pueri Cantores choirs in Austria. We say: “Meleg fogadtatás!” (“Welcome!”).

National Congress of Pueri Cantores Austria

From October 11th to 13th a National Congress of Pueri Cantores Austria took place in Vienna. About 380 young singers came together to sing and unite in masses, prayers and concerts. Three guest choirs from Croatia (Varadzin), Czech Republic (Brno) and Hungary were also present. Special thanks to Joseph Doeller and the Austrian Federation for the great organization and the wonderful event! After the Congress, the representatives from Croatia, Czech Republic and Austria met with FIPC President Jean Henric to grow and strengthen the international community of Pueri Cantores.

Meeting of the bureau of FIPC in Paris, France

In October the Bureau of FIPC (left to right: Treasurer Gian Luca Paolucci, President Jean Henric, Vice-President Matthias Balzer, Secretary Alberto  Veggiotti) met to discuss upcoming International Congresses as well as the Latin American Congress in Bogotá, Colombia. Among other topics special attention was given to the strengthening of the contact to choirs in countries without a federation.

Presidential visit to England

In October FIPC President Jean Henric went to England with the mission to help relaunch a Federation of Pueri Cantores in England. After a visit to Cambridge and the King's Boys' Choir, he met with Bishop Peter Collins in Norwich. The Bishop proposed the 50th anniversary of the creation of the diocese of East Anglia as an opportunity to organise a gathering of children's choirs and thus relaunch the Pueri Cantores in England. This event is planned for spring 2026 and among the English choirs Bishop Collins would like to welcome a French, a German and another European choir.
