Fin octobre, Jean Henric s’est rendu à Cuba pour échanger avec divers partenaires en vue de la création d’une fédération Pueri Cantores. Accompagné de Gabriel Frausto, vice-président chargé de l’Amérique latine, il a rencontré plusieurs chefs de chœurs d’enfants, le recteur du centre culturel catholique de La Havane, qui est également curé de la cathédrale ainsi que le Cardinal Juan de la Caridad Garcia, archevêque de La Havane. Les divers entretiens ont permis de constater que la volonté de développement de notre mouvement Pueri Cantores était réelle. Un soutien total de l’Eglise locale a été affirmé. C’est une première étape qui pourrait se concrétiser prochainement par la mise en place d’une représentation sur place, la création d’une fédération étant la dernière étape.

End of October, Jean Henric travelled to Cuba to discuss with various partners about how to create a Pueri Cantores Federation there. Accompanied by Gabriel Frausto, our Vice-President responsible for Latin America, he met several children's choir leaders, the Rector of the Catholic Cultural Centre of Havana, and who is also the Parish Priest of the Cathedral, and Cardinal Juan de la Caridad Garcia, Archbishop of Havana. The various meetings revealed that the disire to develop our Pueri Cantores movement is very much felt by everyone. Full support from the local Church was affirmed. This is a first step that could soon take the form of setting up local representation, the creation of a federation being the final stage.
Jean Henric a profité de sa présence dans cette partie du continent américain pour se rendre à Haïti qui possède une jeune fédération de Pueri Cantores. Il a pu constater tout d’abord les très grandes difficultés tant politiques que sociales que traverse actuellement ce pays en proie à la violence et à la grande misère. Accompagné du président de la fédération Haïtienne, Mackendy Zizi, Jean Henric a rencontré les chefs de chœurs et l’aumônier national. Il a pu constater que, malgré la situation critique du pays, la volonté de travailler en étroite collaboration et de développer le mouvement est réelle. Plusieurs chœurs ont été contactés et pourraient prochainement rejoindre la jeune fédération. Enfin, Jean Henric accompagné de toute l’équipe dirigeante des Pueri Cantores en Haïti, a pu rencontrer Mgr Max-Leroy Mesidor, archevêque de Port-que-Prince qui a renouvelé son total soutien à notre mouvement d’Eglise. La visite s’est terminée par une messe solennelle animée par les chœurs Pueri Cantores. Elle a rassemblé plus de 1000 personnes, et elle a permis de constater le poids de l’Eglise dans ce pays meurtri.

Jean Henric took advantage of his presence in this part of the American continent to travel to Haiti, with its young Pueri Cantores Federation. First of all, he saw the very great political and social difficulties that this country is currently facing, its suffering from violence and extreme poverty. Accompanied by the President of the Haitian Federation, Mackendy Zizi, Jean Henric met with the choir conductors and the national chaplain. He could to see that, despite the country's critical situation, there is a real willingness to cooperate closely and to develop the movement. Several choirs have been contacted and may soon join this young federation. Finally, Jean Henric, accompanied by the entire Pueri Cantores management team in Haiti, met with Archbishop Max-Leroy Mesidor of Port-au-Prince, who renewed his full support for our church movement. The visit ended with a solemn mass sung by the Pueri Cantores choirs. It brought together more than 1000 people, and it allowed us to see the importance of the Church in this sorely wounded country.

D.R. Congo: Décès de M° Germain Lunanga Mubake

C'est avec grande tristesse que je vous annonce la mort de notre Maestro Germain Lunanga Mubake, ancien Directeur du Choeur d'enfants du Congo, compositeur et organiste. il a reçu la formation auprès de l'ancien Président de la FIPC, Siegfried Koesler. Il est parmi les pionniers de la Fédération Congolaise de Pueri Cantores ayant été reçu avec son Choeur à Rome par le Pape Jean Paul II. Il est décédé le matin du jeudi 28 novembre 2019 en Italie où il vivait déjà depuis plus de 15 ans. Nous le recommandons à vos prières.
It is with great sadness that I announce the death of our Maestro Germain Lunanga Mubake, former Director of the Congo Children's Choir, composer and organist. He received his training from the former President of the FIPC, Siegfried Koesler. He is one of the pioneers of the Congolese Federation of Pueri Cantores, and was received with his choir in Rome by Pope John Paul II. Burundi: Rencontre de choeurs à Bujumbura

Le 17 novembre 2019, trois choeurs du diocèse de Bujumbura se sont réunis à la paroisse de Ste. Anne à Musaga pour célébrer une messe présidée par le prêtre chargé de l‘apostolat des laïcs dans l‘archidiocèse Bujumbura. Après la messe on s‘est réuni dans la salle des anges à Musaga pour partager un verre d‘amitié.
Puis, les préparations pour le grand congrès pour la paix de la région des grands lacs à Bujumbura ont démarré bien. On se réjouit que notre président international, M Jean Henric projette de venir chez nous pour ce congrès.

On November 17, 2019, three choirs from the Diocese of Bujumbura gathered in the parish of St. Anne in Musaga to celebrate a Mass presided by the priest in charge of the Apostolate for the Laity in the Archdiocese of Bujumbura. After Mass we gathered in the Angels' room in Musaga to share a glass of friendship.
Then, preparations for the Great Peace Congress of the Great Lakes Region in Bujumbura started well. We are delighted that our international president, Mr Jean Henric, plans to come to our country for this congress.

India: Choir Festival in Bandra / Mumbai

La fédération indienne des Pueri Cantores vient de terminer son 6e festival de musique sacrée. Organisé à Bombay par Joe Cordo et son équipe, il a réuni cette année 8 chœurs indiens ainsi que le chœur de filles d’Ulm, en Allemagne, venu comme invité.
C’est en présence de Jean Henric, President FIPC et de Matthias Balzer, 1er Vice President que se sont déroulées les dernières manifestations les 14 et 15 décembre: un concert pour la paix, une messe solennelle et un concert de clôture placé sous la direction de Céleste Cordo, compositeur et chef de chœur, avec la participation d’un ensemble instrumental.
Les dirigeants FIPC ont apprécié la qualité des chœurs et la remarquable organisation mise en place par Joe Cordo. La présence de l’évêque auxiliaire de Bombay a permis de montrer à l’Eglise locale la vitalité des Pueri Cantores dans cette ville peuplée de près de 20 millions d’habitants.
La participation d’un chœur européen était un signe d’ouverture au monde de ce festival, lui donnant ainsi des allures de mini congrès international.
Une rencontre avec l’ensemble des chefs de chœurs autour de Jean Henric et Matthias Balzer a permis de mieux connaître cette fédération très active avec un président Joe Cordo, très charismatique, entourée d’une équipe soudée, à commencer par son épouse Céleste et sa fille Down, toutes deux excellentes musiciennes. Elle a également permis d’évoquer les problèmes rencontrés par l’éloignement géographique et par la diversité à la fois culturelle, religieuse et linguistique d’un pays confronté à des difficultés économiques et sociales très importantes.

The Indian Federation of Pueri Cantores has just completed its 6th festival of sacred music. Organised in Bombay by Joe Cordo and his team, it brought together this year 8 Indian choirs as well as the girls' choir from Ulm, Germany, who came as guests.
It is in the presence of Jean Henric, President of FIPC and Matthias Balzer, 1st Vice President, that the last events took place on 14 and 15 December: a concert for peace, a solemn Mass and a closing concert under the direction of Celeste Cordo, composer and conductor of the choir, with the participation of an instrumental ensemble.
The FIPC leaders appreciated the quality of the choirs and the remarkable organization put in place by Joe Cordo. The presence of the Auxiliary Bishop of Bombay helped to show the local Church the vitality of Pueri Cantores in this city of nearly 20 million inhabitants.
The participation of a European choir was a sign of openness to the world of this festival, giving it the appearance of a mini international congress.
A meeting with all the choir conductors around Jean Henric and Matthias Balzer allowed us to get to know this very active federation better, with a very charismatic president Joe Cordo, surrounded by a close-knit team, starting with his wife Céleste and his daughter Down, both excellent musicians. It was also an opportunity to talk about the problems encountered by the geographical distances and the cultural, religious and linguistic diversity of a country faced with major economic and social difficulties.

La fédération Diocésaine de Bujumbura a été reconnue comme mouvement d‘action catholique par la Commission diocésaine pour l‘apostolat des laiques en novembre 2019. En plus, elle projette une rencontrre de choeurs à Gitega le 16 février 2020 pour renforcer les liens entre les choeurs.
The federation of PC of the Archdiocese of Bujumbura has been officially acknowledged as Movement of Catholic Action by the committee for the Apostolate for the Laity of the Archdiocese in November 2019. On February 16, 2020, the choirs will meet in Gitega for a festival to strengthen their bonds of friendship.
