Lleida Successfully Hosts the National Gathering of the Catalan Federation of Pueri Cantores
Choirs from across Catalonia gathered in the capital of the Segre region to share a weekend of music, fellowship, and body percussion workshops.
Lleida, the city of Lleida hosted the National Gathering of the Catalan Federation of Pueri Cantores, bringing together singers from the Federation’s different choirs across the country. Throughout the weekend, music and fellowship took centre stage in an event designed to strengthen the bonds between the choirs and to share the work accomplished during the year.
One of the most dynamic and participatory moments of the gathering was the body percussion workshop, where the singers explored rhythm and movement in an enjoyable and educational way, developing coordination and teamwork beyond their usual vocal training.
The Cathedral Mass, the Highlight of the Gathering
The high point and conclusion of the gathering came during the solemn Mass at Lleida Cathedral, where all participating choirs united their voices to enhance the liturgical celebration. Their joint performance showcased the coordinated work of the different conductors and the vocal excellence of the ensembles within an exceptional architectural setting.
In addition to the musical programme and workshops, the gathering allowed singers to share experiences with fellow choristers from other towns, strengthening the sense of community that defines the Pueri Cantores movement.
